Shady Silver Harley Davidson V-Rod Muscle 2016

Harley Davidson V-Rod models are divided among two opinions - either you love it or you dont agree its a Harley at all. Due to its 1250 revolution high rev engine and a low center of gravity frame it has a completely different feel to the bike when compared to any other Harley model. However, this does not mean a bad feeling, quite the contrary. Once you get the chance to ride it, you quickly realise that its a powerful motorcycle that can launch very quickly from the start line and give a headache to some of the super bikes up to a certain speed. Having this in mind, you really start to wonder how to change this model and make it into a custom Harley Davidson V-Rod that has the sporty and aggressive style. This is where we step in.

Suspension

V-Rods are commonly related to the drag bikes. For the masculine looks its more than often to see a wide rear tire kit on one of these motorcycles. Our project was not an exception. We decided to put a 280 rear tire on this V-Rod Muscle model. In our opinion 280 is the sweet spot, as the 300 is very common and sometimes looks too large. In order to fit such a wide rear wheel we had to modify the rear fork. Not being a fan of the using the stock Harley items, we did develop a custom rear fork for the V-Rod models some time ago. The Shady Silver got the chance to wear one as well. The rear fork includes a wider front pulley cover and a modified rear pulley together with a license plate holder.

To have the best riding comfort, the motorcycle was also equipped with Arnott air suspension. The possibility to adjust the rides height provides a better comfort for the rider as well as makes the bike look sick once lowered at a stance. To have the balance the front fork was equiped with progressive suspension inserts. When you have all that power, the control of the bike becomes a crucial moment.

Body Kit

The Shady Silver project got equipped with our full Photon Series V-Rod body it. The set includes a low profile rear fender with special metal relocation bracket for your BCM and ECM, wide air box cover with outer speedometer frame, side covers, front fender with spacers, radiator cover, seat pan and the rear center taillight. This body kit is a perfect choice for people who want to have everything from a single box. Not only is this body kit a breeze to install but it also has a unified seamless flow from the rear to the front to make your V-Rod stand out in the custom Harley Davidson world.

Other Additions

Since this a V-Rod Muscle, we needed to stand its name. To make the motorcycle more muscular, we installed a 2" fat handlebar and added some small details with our Black Series Clutch and Brake covers. For the sound we chose the Akrapovic exhaust. Since this a high revving engine and it only has 5 gears, you can get annoyed with a louder exhaust from the market. The Akrapovic in our opinion brings the nice crispy sound which still remains suitable for the longer trips. Lastly, we added our 3D printed side mounted headlight cover to the front for the 5,75" headlight. Having the option to choose an aftermarket headlight, our 3D printed cover brings you the wide variaty of options for a clearer night ride.

We like to think that Shady Silver has the proportions suited for a Harley Davidson V-Rod model. The bulky front end with a 2" Handlebar stands out well together with the 280 rear wheel, while the body kit has wide muscular upper body with a slim and low profile through the rear fender. Once you sit on this motorcycle you realise that the comfort was not sacrificed for the looks, but you are definitely riding a custom Harley Davidson V-Rod neck braker through the streets.
